Recently there has been rapid development in use of the Internet to deploy timely corporate e-learning solutions for employee training and to extend the course offerings of educational institutions for students who need to learn from home during a time that does not interfere with work responsibilities.  Using Macromedia Dreamweaver and the new Macromedia Authorware program, TRA can create e-learning courses for corporations or educational institutions that can be deployed online through the Internet or on your organization's Intranet.  The Macromedia program provides seamless support for both Flash 5 and QuickTime video, sound, and graphics that can enable sophisticated features such as animation, zooming, scaling, streaming audio and video, and pausing content, as well as responding interactively to user behaviors.  It also supports the new streaming Shockwave audio format (SWA), which compresses voice and music for delivery over Intranets and the Web, and it allows for incorporation of low-bandwidth streaming MP3 audio to utilize narration with e-learning content in addition to music and sound effects.

The capabilities enabled in Macromedia's newest Authorware program ensure that any e-learning courses created with that product will comply with important new open standards specifications such as those recommended by AICC-CBT (Aviation Industry Computer Based Training Committee) and SCORM (Shareable Courseware Object Reference Model).  It also provides the ability to define your application with an XML-based metadata record that ensures interoperability with other standards-compliant learning management systems and will allow you to import data and learning content from your own internal database sources.
